Make four. 8. Sew two half-square triangle units from step 4 to one unit from step 3 as shown. Repeat to make eight. 9. Sew half-square triangle units from steps 4 and 5 to one unit from step 7 as shown. Repeat to make four. 10. Sew two units from step 8 to one unit from step 9 as shown below. Repeat to make four border strips. 11. Sew two border strips to the sides of the quilt top. 12. Sew the remaining step 4 light biege/floral half-square triangle units to the ends of the remaining two border strips and sew to the top and bottom.

3. Using two of the units from step 1 and two 21⁄4" light beige squares, assemble as shown. Make sixteen. 4. Refer to “Quick-Corner Triangles,” page 106, and position a 21⁄ 4" rose square on two corners of a 4" light green square. Stitch to make triangle corners. Press and trim. Repeat to make light beige triangles on the two remaining corners. Make twelve. 5. Repeat step 4, positioning a 21 ⁄ 4" medium beige square onto two corners of a 4" light green square and light beige triangles on the remaining corners.

7. Sew the yellow and white units from step 1 to the medium blue and yellow units from step 4 as shown. Make two of each. 13. Sew the strips from step 12 to the center section from step 11 to complete the block. 8. Sew yellow and white units to medium blue squares as shown. Make two of each. 9. Sew two units from step 6 to a 31⁄ 2" white square as shown. Make four. 14. Repeat steps 1–13 to make a total of 13 Pine Burr blocks. Pieced Star Block 1. Sew a 2"-wide bright blue strip and a 2"-wide white strip together lengthwise.
